SEPTEMBER 2: Fitting in is not the same as belonging
Creating workplaces, communities and everyday spaces where everyone feels seen, valued and able to be themselves.
Most of us have experienced that quiet pressure to fit in, whether it was changing the way we spoke, holding back an opinion, adapting our personality or simply trying to work out which parts of ourselves would be most comfortable for the people around us.
Sometimes that kind of adaptation is harmless, but when we feel that acceptance depends on how well we can hide, adjust or edit ourselves, something important is missing.
Belonging gives us the freedom to be ourselves without constantly wondering whether we are too different, too loud, too quiet or simply not quite what people expected.

Because belonging should never require us to become less of ourselves.
