diagnostic equity, diversity and inclusion data - in 2 simple steps.

Not sure where to start with Equity, Diversity Inclusion (EDI)?

Looking for a way to measure how you’re doing - and track impact?

Start here.

the equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) diagnostic

  • Our EDI Diagnostic is for those companies who want to be strategic about Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and make sure that they are measuring the impact of their solutions.

  • Our EDI Diagnostic is entirely online, it’s completely secure, and involves no uploading of data or integration with any of your systems. You can be up and running in less than 5 minutes.

  • The Leadership Alignment section is done in just 90 minutes and the Employee Assessment is launched in 1 click, and left open for 3 weeks. It takes employees from just 5-8 minutes to complete. Easy.

You can have your whole EDI Diagnostic completed in as little as 3 weeks from start to finish!

  • One of the reasons we created the EDI Diagnostic was to solve the problem of there being far too much data - but none of it useful.

We gather all your employees’ demographic information during the Employee Assessment so our data not only shows you exactly what the problem is, it shows you exactly who it’s affecting. Plus there are recommendations for how to improve on each and every point.

  • Spend your entire EDI budget on gathering data doesn't make any sense to us.

We want you to spend a tiny fraction on your diagnostic data and save loads of budget for closing the gaps you find!

how does it work?

The EDI Diagnostic is in two parts:

  1. A Leadership Alignment session

  2. an Employee Assessment

Leadership Alignment:

The Leadership Alignment session is your most senior leaders, getting together in one, 90 minute session to answer one set of questions about Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at the organisation.

Through this facilitated, virtual (or in person) session, a huge amount of incredibly important discussion happens.

Leaders leave the sessions feeling heard and understood, motivated, empowered - and aligned on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

They also leave excited about the results from the Employee Assessment - and ready to help engage employees around it!

Employee assessment:

The Employee Assessment is where all of your employees tell you their thoughts and beliefs about their own feelings of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at the organisation.

In this online assessment, accessed via a single link, your employees will assess the equity of processes and progression, how they feel their diversity is recognised and valued and where they feel included. All this takes from just 5-8 minutes of their time!

The Employee Assessment covers all 10 areas of EDI at your organisation and there’s free text boxes with each question so you get loads of context.

results & recommendations:

Once your Employee Assessment is closed, your results are shown to you immediately and you can start looking through them straight away!

We dedicate as much consultancy time as you need to fully understand your results - add recommendations and build your action plan - all included in your price.

FAQs

  • Setting up your account takes about 5 minutes.

If you did your Leadership Alignment session today, you could launch your employee Assessment immediately after that.

  • About 6 weeks:

2 weeks to wrangle their leadership team into a meeting together to do the Leadership Alignment session.

They’ll then usually announce and launch the Employee Assessment the week after that.

The Employee Assessment stays open for 3 weeks. As soon as you close your Employee Assessment your data is ready, there’s no waiting.

  • When you click “Launch Employee Assessment” on your dashboard you will get a single link to send out to employees.

This is totally secure so you can send it out however you like; via email, Slack, Intranet etc. Some of our customers add a QR code to posters and put them up around the office.

  • Yes. We ensure this in 3 ways:

We delete employee emails after they hit “submit” on their assessment.

We don’t show results for groups with fewer than 6 respondents.

We don’t allow access to raw data unless it’s been anonymised by us.

  • Yes. Many of our customers have both.

This is not a survey, it is a diagnostic tool to show you exactly where your gaps are with equity, diversity and inclusion. It’s much more diagnostic than an engagement survey and it’s specifically designed for EDI.

Many of our customers decide to retire their engagement survey after seeing their EDI Diagnostic results because ours gave them all the engagement data they needed plus loads more - faster, more efficiently (and usually more cost effectively!)

Some of our customers decide to do both! We’d recommend scheduling a demo so you can see the questions we ask, and deciding your approach after that.

  • Yes!

Many of our customers decide to retire their engagement survey after doing the EDI Diagnostic because it gave them all the engagement data they needed plus loads more - faster, more efficiently (and usually more cost effectively!)

  • The Leadership Alignment session is a meeting to answer 70 questions as a group.

The 70 questions (called the ‘Self Assessment’) need to be answered in order to unlock the Employee Assessment.

We strongly recommend taking the opportunity to use the Self Assessment to align the most senior leadership team, however we have some companies where the HR team or the HR Director alone will choose to do the Self Assessment on behalf of the company.

  • Yes!

There are different laws operating in different countries, which make it unlawful to collect certain demographic data. This is all programmed into our platform to make sure you are always operating within the law.

  • Your data is completely locked down to one administrator from your company.

They can choose to grant access to named viewers. Data is encrypted at rest and everyone who has access to the data is subject to multi factor authentication.

  • The EDI Health Check is a powerful tool specifically designed to root out your EDI gaps and unearth problems.

For that reason, for most of our customers it’s a very private process.

There are plenty of organisations who will put companies on a leaderboard after a fairly high level survey - this is not that.

This is a tool to help you find problem areas so you can build a solid EDI strategy off the back of it and continue to measure your progress year after year.

  • Yes it works for all sizes of organisation, in fact, we designed it for small organisations first - our smallest organisation has just 4 people!

Organisations with under 10 employees get it for just £500

  • Yes it works for all sizes.

Some of our larger organisations like to get their data out of the platform (anonymised) and analyse it in a tool like Power BI.

The extract is all included in the price.

  • Yes.

When you set up, you can add up to 2 custom filters, one of these is Locations and you can add as many as you like.

Our largest company to date had 26 offices around the world.

  • Yes.

When you set up, you can add 2 custom filters, one of these is Departments.

You can use the filters to look at data for each of your Departments individually.

  • Yes, you get a progress monitor on your dashboard.

  • Nope. None of that, this is cloud-based and separate from any of your internal platforms.

You just send out the Employee Assessment link - the same link for everyone.

    Faff free and simple!

  • No.

You just send out the Employee Assessment link - the same link for everyone.

    Faff free and simple!

  • Yep. They can do it on any device connected to the internet.

  • Our Employee Assessment has a consistent 87% completion rate, which means that of all the (thousands) of people who have ever started the Employee Assessment, 87% have completed it.

Once your employees click the link, our seamless user experience and engaging questions take over - so our job together is to get them to click the link.

We have a few ways we do this. Our founder is super hands on and likes to pop in virtually to one of your all-organisation meetings for 10 minutes to introduce Powered By Diversity, let your employees know what to expect from the assessment and most importantly emphasise how completely anonymous the whole process is. This works incredibly well for engagement.

We recommend you send out (at least) weekly reminders to complete it (complete with lots of celebration for all the engagement you’ve had so far)

Some of our customers even put a meeting in everyone’s diaries with the Employee Assessment link as the location!

  • Because we don’t take an upload of your employees’ email addresses, the platform can’t do that.

  • All responses are always shown in the aggregated data, and all free text comments are always shown. It’s when drilling down into demographic mix-and-matches that the anonymity filters kick in.

For example, if I am one of three people who identify as female, white, parent, age 40-50, and you filter your data based on gender, race/ ethnicity, parent/ carer status and age, you will see results for groups with more than 6 people in, but you won’t see the three people who identified like me.

If we were to show results for female, white, parent, 40-50 it’s likely you would know who those three people are and thus their anonymity in answering is removed.
