Using lived experience to celebrate our communities, share their stories and build greater understanding.
As October draws to a close, so does our month-long journey of Honouring Our Communities, during which we've explored the people who shape our lives, the culture and connections that bring us together and the legacies that continue to influence future generations. Throughout these reflections, one thing has become increasingly clear: the importance of community extends far beyond the moments when we come together to celebrate it.
For our final blog of Black History Month, we're reflecting on what it truly means to carry the conversations and learning of October into the rest of the year, recognising that Black British history is still being made and that meaningful inclusion requires more than an annual moment of recognition. Although the calendar may move on, the communities we've been celebrating will continue to shape the world around us, and the opportunity to honour their experiences and contributions remains with us every day.
