Using lived experience to celebrate our communities, share their stories and build greater understanding.
When we think about Black History Month, our attention often turns to the people and achievements of the past, but Black history isn't something that has already been written and completed. It continues to develop through the lives of Black people shaping British society today, whose experiences and contributions are becoming part of the history future generations will one day look back upon.
As we approach the end of Black History Month and continue Honouring Our Communities, we're turning our attention to the people making a difference right now, exploring why recognising their contributions while they are happening matters just as much as remembering those who came before, and how the stories unfolding within our communities today are already shaping the legacy of tomorrow.
