August 9: Finding Five Minutes For Yourself

This month is an invitation to challenge our way of thinking. Let’s Talk Honestly About the realities of family life during the summer holidays.

When we think about looking after ourselves, it's easy to imagine that we need large blocks of free time, a quiet house or a complete break from our responsibilities. For many parents, especially during the summer holidays, that simply isn't the reality. The days are full, the to-do list is endless and finding even a few moments to yourself can feel like an impossible luxury.

The good news is that caring for yourself doesn't always require hours. Sometimes, it's the smallest moments, a peaceful cup of tea, a walk around the garden, a few deep breaths or simply sitting quietly for five minutes, that can help us feel calmer, more grounded and better able to face the rest of the day.

Today's blog is a reminder that your wellbeing doesn't have to wait until life becomes less busy. Even the smallest act of kindness towards yourself can make a genuine difference, because taking a few moments to pause isn't about escaping your family, it's about making sure you don't lose yourself along the way.
