OCTOBER 20: the People who expand our world

Using lived experience to celebrate our communities, share their stories and build greater understanding.

Our understanding of the world is naturally shaped by the life we have experienced, but it can grow considerably when we form genuine relationships with people whose lives have taken a different path from our own. Through those connections, experiences that once felt distant can become easier to understand and assumptions we never realised we held can begin to shift.

As we continue our week exploring Community & Connection, we’re looking at the people who expand our world simply by allowing us to see beyond our own version of normal, reminding us that we don’t need to share somebody’s experience for it to change what we notice and understand.
