August 27: Celebrating The Summer You Had

This month is an invitation to challenge our way of thinking. Let’s Talk Honestly About the realities of family life during the summer holidays.

As the summer holidays begin to draw to a close, many parents may find themselves looking back at the plans that changed, the activities that didn’t happen or the experiences they had hoped to give their children.

Thankfully the weather played ball but maybe work became busier than expected or finances made some plans impossible. Maybe the weeks passed more quickly than you imagined, leaving you with the feeling that there was still so much you wanted to do.

Throughout this series, we have explored the pressures parents can experience during the holidays and the importance of letting go of the expectation that every day must be exciting, productive or memorable. Today, we are choosing to look forward with positivity by celebrating the summer your family actually had.

We’ve seen that even when plans change, meaningful moments can still be found in the laughter, connection, ordinary days and unexpected memories that grow along the way.
