August 14: Weekly Reflection

This month is an invitation to challenge our way of thinking. Let’s Talk Honestly About the realities of family life during the summer holidays.

As we reach the end of our second week together, we’d like to invite you to pause for a moment and look back at the small things you have achieved without giving yourself any credit.

Over the past few days, we’ve talked about the importance of recognising overwhelm, asking for help, acknowledging the invisible emotional labour of parenting and understanding that rest is a human need that not everyone has equal access to. These conversations have reminded us that parents carry far more than many people see, and that looking after our wellbeing is not something we should have to earn.

Today’s reflection is a chance to notice the small acts of care, resilience and connection that may not have felt important at the time but helped your family through the week. Success isn’t a perfectly organised day or a completed to-do list. Sometimes, it’s making a simple meal, offering a hug, asking for help, trying again or simply getting through a difficult day.

Those wins count.
