Please introduce your role & company.

AMI is a leading business to business events and MI provider to the global plastics industry.  It was founded in 1986 as a family company and due to its excellent reputation was acquired by a private investment company in 2015.  AMI runs events (conferences and exhibitions) worldwide, undertakes market research studies and offers database directories plus an in house digital magazine team to advertise products and provide the latest industry news and innovations.  It currently has c100 employees.

What do you have now that you didn't have before becoming members of Powered By Diversity?

We now have a wealth of information related to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, directly from our people, a renewed focus on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion companywide and are starting to make plans to close some of the gaps and promote and embed EDI throughout the company.

What have you learned from the Powered By Diversity process so far?

Its given us more confidence to talk about and start to promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion topics more and hopefully work together with Powered By Diversity to build up our knowledge and confidence in this ever evolving field.

What are you doing differently now that you’re members of Powered By Diversity?  

It has given us a clearer path to follow and the reassurance of working in partnership with people that are experts in the subject and can help steer us round any challenges we identify

How has Powered By Diversity brought your organisation together?

It has helped clarify to the wider company that it is something the company are committed to (rather than ‘just’ an HR topic) and having our MD lead the comms has really helped with this.

What would you say the returns on investment have been?

It has been really helpful to work with Powered By Diversity and get their advice and interpretation of the results.  It helps enormously to have an external partner so that employees can trust that their feedback and comments are anonymous and protected so that they can be honest.
