June 10: Brick by brick, piece by piece

June is OUR screen free Living for children and teens MONTH!

Today's screen-free activity is all about building!

Grab some LEGO, building blocks, cardboard boxes, empty tubs, toilet roll tubes or anything else you can find and see what amazing creations you can come up with. Will you build a towering castle, a futuristic spaceship, a bustling city, or a machine that does something silly? The choice is yours!

Building activities are a fantastic way to let imaginations run wild. There are no right or wrong answers, just lots of opportunities to experiment, create and have fun. Sometimes the most exciting inventions are the ones that weren't planned at all!

As children build, they use skills such as problem-solving, creativity, teamwork and perseverance. They might discover new ways to balance structures, figure out how to make something stronger or work together to bring a big idea to life.

So gather your materials and get creative - what will you build today?

Pride: Pose, Power & Pride: Queer Culture Now and Then

This interactive 60 minute Pride Month session uses the iconic series Pose as a launchpad to explore the radical roots, resilience, and cultural influence of queer and trans communities — especially Black and Latine voices from the ballroom scene.

Through games, storytelling, and creative reflection, participants will uncover how language, identity, and inclusion have evolved, and why terms like transsexual, queer, and Trans+ mean different things to different people.

The session invites teams to move beyond corporate checkboxes and into a deeper, more joyful, and more respectful understanding of LGBTQ+ identities — with a few voguing vibes along the way.
