David is an independent consultant, trainer, policy analyst and researcher with 30 years’ experience working to promote gender equality and masculinities in families, communities and workplaces.
David is Project Lead for Beyond Gender Stereotypes (BGS), an innovative, free, evidence-based programme for all children aged 7–11 in England. BGS is part of The Children’s Society’s Lifting Limits programme, which aims to promote gender equality and challenge limiting gender stereotypes that constrain children’s healthy development and learning opportunities. BGS is part of the Global Boyhood Initiative, coordinated by Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice, a US-based non- profit organisation.
David co-founded and worked for many years with the Fatherhood Institute, the UK’s fatherhood think tank, and has worked as Chief Executive of the UK White Ribbon Campaign, and National Director of the Good Lad Initiative (now Beyond Equality).
He is the proud father of two adult children, and is based in the UK and the Netherlands.
