What does "diverse talent" mean in this context?

In this context, diverse talent means any talent that has faced barriers in life. Diversity comes in many, many forms; from orientation, gender and ethnicity - to body size and accent. Diversity could be your sex or gender identity, your disability, neurodivergence, your age, parental status, your ethnicity or religion...all manner of diversity is very warmly welcomed onto this course.

Is this just for people in leadership positions?

We have designed this course to be inclusive of talent at any level of your organisation. This course takes each delegate on their own personal leadership journey, so it's just as effective for ambitious graduate or apprentice as it is for a director preparing for their move to C-level. Everyone can be a leader in some form - regardless of their position in an organisation.

How do I book?

Just send as a message (or email us via cat@poweredbydiversity.org) with the names and email addresses of who you would like to book onto the course, and we'll pop you an invoice - or send you a Stripe link. Easy peasy.

Is this a public cohort?

The course running on the dates advertised in this brochure is open to delegates from any organisation. If you send your talent on this course, they will meet a variety of people from different organisations and industries. We also offer the option of running this course just for your organisation. If you'd like to do this just send as a message (or email us via cat@poweredbydiversity.org).

How many delegates can I send on one course?

We have a maximum cohort size of 40 so you can send up to 40 delegates at a time, depending on how many places are available when you book. Are white people allowed on this course?

Of course! Diversity comes in many, many forms - only a tiny portion of diversity is visible. All ethnicities and all manners of diversity is very warmly welcomed onto this course.

What does "leaders" mean in this context?

We have designed this course to be inclusive of talent at any level of your organisation. What kind of talent is this course for?

It's for all talent that you want to grow and support to progress through your business. The only thing we ask is that your delegates are ambitious, ready to learn and keen to participate and grow as leaders.

My delegates can't attend on these dates, when is the next cohort?

There will be another cohort in Q2 2023, please get in touch to book your place in advance to avoid disappointment. We also offer the option of running this course just for your organisation. If you'd like to do this just send as a message (or email us via cat@poweredbydiversity.org).

I want to send some more junior talent, will this course be useful to them?

Absolutely! This course will be perfect for them. All our teachers have been chosen because they are approachable and committed to making their classes inclusive of talent at all levels.

I want to send talent at senior leadership level, will this course be useful to them?

Of course! Depending on their area of expertise they may not have expertise in every area we cover in the course or may want to brush up - so although some areas may be totally their jam, other areas may be new to them or areas they want to improve. They also might like to learn from diverse leaders!

If one of the classes is something my delegates already gave nailed, is it OK for them to skip this one?

We wouldn't recommend it - the course has been designed to flow. Your delegates' experience will add to the learning of the other delegates! What an opportunity for your delegates with expertise in this area to step up and share. They may even learn something they didn’t know before ;-).

What happens if my delegates can't attend a class?

We totally understand that life and work can be unpredictable! They just need to let us know if they can't come. We'll record all the group parts of the classes so they can catch up if they miss one. Sadly we won't be able to record the breakout sessions though.

What happens if my delegates can't attend more than one class?

We're looking for 70% attendance for the course, but if they have to miss a couple, they just need to let us know if they can't come. We'll record all the group parts of the classes so they can catch up if they miss one. Sadly we won't be able to record the breakout sessions though.

What happens if I start the course but can't finish it or I miss too many classes?

We won't be able to refund you at this point but your delagates can either watch the recordings of the classes they miss - or you can let us know and transfer their place/s to different delegates.

What happens if I reserve a place and don't pay before the start of the course?

We're expecting places on the cohort to fill up very quickly but we understand that some finance processes can be long - so we'll give you 28 days to pay. After this point we'll open the place back up (but we'll stay in touch throughout the process so that you can do everything your end to help too!)

What happens if I book and pay but can't attend any of the course?

If it's 2 weeks before the cohort begins, just let us know and we can transfer your place to another employee at your organisation, hold it for the next cohort, or refund it to you.

NB We'll need notice of refunds to be given to us more than 2 weeks before the course begins. Any time after this and refunds won't be available - but don't worry, we will still be able to transfer your place to another employee, or to hold your place/s for the next cohort.

Do all the teachers have lived experience of what they are teaching about?

Yes. All of our teachers have lived experience in the topic they are teaching.
