  • Trauma-informed training, talks, and workshops on grief, baby loss, and supporting staff through difficult experiences at work. I help organisations build confidence in responding to grief and trauma, improve communication, and reduce burnout and emotional fatigue within teams.

  • Trauma-informed consultancy to improve how organisations respond to grief, loss, and staff wellbeing. I work with organisations to identify gaps, strengthen practice, and embed more consistent, compassionate, and effective approaches that improve both staff experience and outcomes.

  • Supporting organisations to address disparities and deliver more inclusive, equitable care and workplace practice. I help organisations better understand inequalities in maternity and bereavement experiences and take practical steps towards more inclusive, trauma-informed approaches.

Louisa Hendrickson is the Founder of Zion’s Lighthouse, a trauma-informed consultancy supporting organisations, healthcare services, and workplaces to respond to grief, baby loss, and trauma with greater confidence, compassion, and accountability.

Her work is rooted in lived experience following the death of her son, Zion. This experience, alongside years of dedicated learning, research, and engagement with people, services, and systems, has shaped Louisa’s deep understanding of how grief and trauma impact individuals not only emotionally, but physically and within wider organisational and societal contexts.

Louisa brings a holistic, trauma-informed approach to her work, recognising that grief, trauma, and chronic stress affect the mind, body, and environment. She supports organisations to move beyond awareness into meaningful, practical change, improving how staff and services respond in some of the most critical and sensitive moments.
Louisa is a powerful and engaging public speaker, known for her ability to connect with audiences through honesty, clarity, and depth.

She delivers talks, workshops, and training on topics including:

* Grief in the workplace and what supportive practice looks like
* Baby loss awareness and breaking silence around taboo experiences
* Trauma-informed practice and how it shows up in real-life settings
* Burnout, emotional load, and staff wellbeing
* Women’s health, including the impact of conditions such as endometriosis
* Understanding trauma and PTSD in everyday life and work
* Supporting others: communication, language, and holding space
* Disparities in maternity and bereavement care and inclusive practice
* The role of the body in grief and stress (Movement is Medicine)

Her sessions are grounded in real-world experience and insight, translating complex and often misunderstood issues into practical, accessible learning that audiences can apply immediately.
Through Zion’s Lighthouse, Louisa delivers training, speaking, and advisory work across healthcare, corporate, and community settings. Her work supports organisations to improve staff confidence, reduce burnout and emotional fatigue, and strengthen how they support individuals experiencing grief and trauma, ultimately improving both staff wellbeing and outcomes for those they serve.
Zion’s Lighthouse also works in collaboration with a wider network of practitioners, including a qualified CBT therapist and a specialist movement practitioner, enabling the work to be supported by both psychological insight and embodied approaches where appropriate.

A key focus of Louisa’s work is addressing disparities in maternity and bereavement care, particularly for Black and marginalised communities. She brings an intersectional and anti-oppressive lens, supporting organisations to reflect on inequality, bias, and systemic gaps, and to take meaningful steps towards more equitable and inclusive practice.
Louisa has contributed to national work relating to maternity and neonatal care, including involvement in large-scale review and system-level initiatives focused on improving outcomes and addressing inequalities. This experience has strengthened her understanding of how policy, practice, and lived experience intersect.

Alongside her consultancy and speaking work, Louisa is the host of the Love, Life & Loss podcast, which is listened to in over 40 countries worldwide. The podcast is both a platform for open and honest conversations and an ongoing learning resource. Through engaging with a wide range of voices and experiences, Louisa continually develops her understanding, ensuring her work remains relevant, responsive, and grounded in real need. This learning is actively fed back into Zion’s Lighthouse, meaning the work is always evolving and improving.
Louisa has worked with organisations including The Motherhood Group, Sands, Tommy’s, CHUMS, and through platforms such as Powered by Diversity, delivering work that supports organisations to strengthen inclusive practice, staff wellbeing, and trauma-informed approaches.

Her work is grounded in integrity, honesty, and impact. She does not offer surface-level awareness, but instead supports organisations to think differently, respond more effectively, and create environments where people feel seen, supported, and safe, particularly at some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
